The New York Post, and others, printed headlines of Just Lin Baby, Linning Streak, The Might Lin, Lin Lin Lin, and have sparked a wave of play on word Lin-guistics. He linvigorated this team, He's All- Linn, his game winning shot was Thril-lin, he's Jeremy Win, he's Linderella, are examples that have been spotted in print.
Just think of the possibilities: the Knicks could be linvincible, lindefensible, if they play with this lintensity, let's all get in touch with our lindustrious nature, our Inner Lin, if he gets hurt it would be a linjury, if he gets accused of something he would be presumed linnocent, he's linfallible even though he has a high turnover number, most people are rooting for Lin and the lincomprehensible 'kid acquires super powers through linitiative and hard work' (and an awesome pick and roll) story.
Add the Ivy League education and Silicon Valley upbringing, and the Asian communities who are getting positive press and recognition and you get a crossover dribbling international pop star. Move over Jay-Z and J. Lo. It's been a fun two weeks as social media, and mainstream media have embraced a not so serious take on their misuse of the Linglish language. A drop off of hype is linevitable, just ask Lady Gaga about that fame monster. Hey J, just keep swishin' and dishin', and of course, lin-nin', because thats what you love to do.
